The Impreza is powered with the boxer engine from Subaru. The pistons of the boxer engines move from left to right instead of the usual up and down, which reduces the effects from gravity. The boxer engine burns fuel more efficiently and produces a better mileage and less carbon emission, when compared to other engines.
