Subaru Impreza STi or STI?……..

I have a Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type UK…. the amount of people that ask me what STi stands for is unbelievable!!!

Subaru Tecnica International (STi) is Fuji’s Motorsports division. Together STi and UK company Prodrive specialise in preparing all the vehicles for the Subaru World Rally Team, for competing in the WRC (World Rally Championship). The parent company of Subaru, Fuji Heavy Industries, founded this in 1988 to help promote Subaru’s performance related identity.
From 2006 and onwards STi was changed to STI, why I do not know and I am unsure as to whether it makes a difference or means anything different! Apart from it is all in capitals…..
So now you know STi / STI stands for Subaru Tecnica International.
