Subaru has revised the 2009 lineup of the Subaru Impreza and the WRX has only gotten more powerful. The Subaru Impreza comes as a 4-door hatchback or a 4-dooor sedan. The variants of the 2009 Subaru Impreza include the base 2.5i, 2.5GT, SUV-inspired Outback Sport, and the performance oriented WRX STi and WRX.
The 2.5GT, 2.5i and the WRX are available in both hatchback and sedan body styles, while the WRX STi and the Outback Sport are available only in hatchback body style. All Subaru Impreza models have all-wheel drive and a 2.5litre 4-cylinder engine that is horizontally opposed.
Although, the Outback Sport and 2.5i have 170hp, all the other Subaru Impreza models are turbocharged. The WRX STi has 305hp, the WRX has 265hp and the 2.5GT has 224hp. The 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX has 41hp more than the 2008 WRX model.
The Subaru Impreza was first introduced in 1993 after the popular Loyale/Leone was cancelled. It had the popular EJ series engine that was found in the larger Subaru Legacy. Compared to other vehicles in its same class, such as Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, and Mazda3/Mazda Protégé, the Subaru Impreza is the only vehicle to offer all-wheel drive.
The Subaru Impreza is the perfect vehicle if you are looking for performance, driving control and comfort. The all-wheel drive of the Subaru Impreza guarantees you a safe handling and promises a fun-filled and comfortable driving experience.
