In a study undertaken at the end of last year by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the USA, Subaru vehicles came out amongst the safest on the road.
The result was achieved after a number of stringent frontal, side, rear and rollover crash tests were carried out on a range of Subaru vehicles.
Subaru managed to outperform the likes of Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, Honda and Volvo as well as earning scores high enough to ensure that each model that the Japanese manufacturer came top.
Amongst the five awards which Subaru received the Impreza was named in the small category. The other four awards were achieved by the New Legacy, Outback, Forrester and the Tribeca.

I was glad to hear that a collaboration between Colin McRae Vision and Alex F. Noble & Son, a Subaru dealer, a donated a Subaru Forrester the the Yorkhill Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
The Partnership which was set up after Colin McRae sadly lost his life in a horrific helicopter crash in September 2007, has also made a donation of £35,000 help fund the purchase of a specialist Paediatric Intensive Care ambulance.
The vehicle will hopefully make a huge difference to the fantastic work that the hospital does as it will enable them to respond to more calls and help provide critically ill children with the specialist treatment they need.

The Subaru Impreza WRX and STI type UK is now being offered with complimentary optional upgrades worth a stunning £3,200. Although this offer will only be available at participating dealers of course!
The free items included with the offer, which was announced in April, are a Prodrive Performance Pack which will improve acceleration and add new 18 inch alloys and tyres.
Subaru UK Marketing Director, Kenyon Neads, said: “With this offer we’ve added even more value into the Impreza equation. The WRX and STI are performance car icons with a seriously loyal following and we hope that the prospect of these free upgrades will broaden their appeal still further.”
Further to the awesome Prodrive Performance Package the Japanese firm is also reducing the price by a whopping £95.

I’ve never actually been impressed with the current styling of the Subaru Impreza. I’m sure you will all agree that the design has gradually declined over recent years. However, this should or maybe still could be about to change as a delicious new coupe supposedly goes into production this year (see image).

The coupe is has been developed as part of joint venture between Subaru and Toyota which will also apparently produce a new version of the Celica.

They’ll be a choice of two engines which will be the normally aspirated 2.0 L unit producing an estimated 180bhp and a high performance 2.5 L turbo which will be borrowed from the STi producing 300bhp.

The coupe will help Subaru battle against the BMW 3 series coupe and Nissan 350Z. Good luck guys.

Just when it couldn’t get any better there is now a new Subaru Impreza, the Cosworth STI CS400. The car is one of the most eagerly awaited collaborations in the automotive world. Maybe the only downside is that it is limited to a production of only 75 so, you’ll have to be as quick as the car to actually get your hands on one.

The Cosworth-tuned turbocharged Boxer engine will now produce 33 % more power due to the manufacturer’s vast knowledge of Formula 1.

So what are the important stats, I hear you say? With full time all wheel drive, Vehicle Dynamics Control, Rear limited-slip differential, Front limited-slip differential and Si-Drive adjustable centre differential and a six speed gearbox it will produce 400 ps, reach 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.

It will be exclusive to the UK in right-hand drive form, a choice of three colours will be available and it will be priced at £49,995 on the road.

Recently I have been looking at spending a little bit of my hard earned money on my car, I never treat it to anything… I have been saying that I would tint the windows or add a roof vortex plate or get it lowered or something along those lines for the past 12 months and still haven’t done any of these things!! My poor Subaru Impreza must be getting really annoyed at me for making promises and not keeping them!!
So what I have been doing for the past few days is looking at installing a new car stereo into my beloved Subaru Impreza… But I think I need new speakers too!! I was driving along the other day, minding my own business, when a good song cam on the radio, so I turned it up and started to enjoy the music…
but one of my rear speakers was distorting a lot, yet the others seemed fine!! So now I am going to have to get a new stereo and speakers, what an expense! Although, here is something that will help, someone told me about Promotional Coupons, these are great for helping you get a better bargain!

Although, this could be blamed on the lack of awareness among people regarding the vehicles from the Subaru stable, there is no denying the fact that the Subaru Impreza has its own fan following.

The Subaru Impreza is the ideal car for the individual who is seeking the perfect driving excitement and it can be the perfect choice for compact cars. The performance edge for the Subaru Impreza can be attributed to the all-wheel drive feature that is standard in all Subaru vehicles. This provides extra traction especially in slippery conditions and provides excellent handling to the individual driving it.

The most recent Subaru Impreza is larger and more refined than the earlier Impreza models.
